Campaign Finance Laws in New York State are carefully monitored by the Board of Elections. Supervisor Candidate repeatedly tries to distract voters’ attention from his pending indictment by claiming he’s not guilty and that he always does things right. But that’s not so when it comes to filing his campaign paperwork. To see a screenshot of the current entry on the NYS BOE website and fact-check this yourself, click on the image below:

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: If it weren't for lies, misinformation, and mudslinging, the Costanza Campaign would have no campaign at all. One example of campaign rhetoric that misleads voters is his response to his unethical behavior in getting his own taxes lowered while he was the Irondequoit Assessor. He claims he did nothing wrong. Last Week, John received a bogus invitation from the Costanza Campaign to appear in a debate. It was sent to John’s Government Email, and it is illegal for Costanza to use it for political campaigning. Consequently, John responded to the public directly. Elect John Perticone: Irondequoit’s Home Town Boy

John standing at the news podium with Rochester news 8 and news 10 microphones.

As a lifelong Irondequoit resident, I have a deep commitment to - and a genuine passion for - our community. My wife, Michele, and I have raised our daughters here, and today we have the joy of watching one of our grandchildren grow up in the same neighborhood. Michele owns a small business in town, further strengthening our connection to Irondequoit. In addition to serving this community as a Town Board member for 17 years, I am also proud to have joined the Board of Directors at Sunset House  - a comfort care home here in Irondequoit - in January 2024. We have more than just family roots here—this is the community we love, support, and proudly call home.

I was first elected to the Irondequoit Town Board in 2007. With my background in construction management and my service on the town planning board, I wanted to ensure responsible development−and, in the process, make this a community in which both families and businesses can thrive. We made a lot of progress over the years, but ou nouncing my candidacy for Irondequoit Town Supervisor.

Over the last 18 years, we've improved the 590 extension to Seabreeze, re-purposed the former Irondequoit Mall, and built a state-of-the-art library that is the envy of the county. The library was a personal priority for me. I advocated for the library and was part of the planning team. I then used my years of experience working in the construction trades and management to see the project to completion. And I'm proud to say the library was built on time and under budget.

I get things done for two reasons: I have the right experience and I work with others, no matter their political background. And that's because the people of Irondequoit come first.

Moving forward, my campaign will prioritize open communication with residents, fiscal responsibility, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all.

What We Stand For

Integrity

I am proud of the trust you have repeatedly placed in me over the last two decades. I pledge to honor that trust by serving the town with an honest and transparent administration.

Stability

The people of Irondequoit know me, thanks to my nearly two decades of service. With me, there are no surprises, only a steady hand moving the town forward.

Experience

As a lifelong resident of Irondequoit and a 17-year veteran of the town board, I know the community, the people, and the issues. This is not a time for on-the-job training. I have the needed experience to move the town forward.

Issues for Better Irondequoit

Economic Development

Continue the work we’ve done over the years to improve the Commercial area on East Ridge Road. We’ve made great progress on Skyview, but we have more to do to make it a viable commercial draw for Irondequoit. And, we will continue our efforts to foster programs that will attract new small businesses to our community.

We’ll return a steadiness and constancy to Town Hall that has been lacking for some time now, despite our best efforts. We’ll eliminate the scandal, the malfeasance, and fear that has led to an unsafe workplace for our community’s town employees. We’ll bring back a government Irondequoit can be proud of.

Stability for Irondequoit

Affordability & Lower Taxes

We’ve consistently been able to hold the line on massive tax increases that some have advocated for. We’ve worked to improve government efficiency, and we’ll continue that fight so that no homeowner will be saddled with exorbitant increases in local taxes.

Continue Supporting our Police Department

Crime has a significant impact on families, businesses, and quality of life. By working closely with our chief of police and all the men and women of the Irondequoit police force, we will look for new strategies to reduce crime and violence.

Continued Improvements for Public Works

We’re proud of the effort we’ve made to bring a new DPW facility and centralized library to the Town Hall campus. But our work is not done. We need to finish the Backyard Project at Town Hall for everyone to enjoy and better serve the people of Irondequoit.
